    hi, i saw this on here and fell in love so started to knit straight away!!! but after only doing a couple of rows im a bit confused and was wondering if you could help me?? on the first panel. this is how it reads
    Panel I
    With MC, cast on 42 sts.
    1st row: (RS). Purl.
    **2nd row: K1. *(K1. P1. K1) in next st. P3tog. Rep from * to last st. K1.
    3rd row: Purl.
    4th row: K1. *P3tog. (K1. P1. K1) in next st. Rep from * to last st. K1.
    5th row: Purl.
    Rep last 4 rows of Trinity Stitch Pat for 9 ins [23 cm], ending with a 4th row

    after purling 3 together several times across the row there will be no way that i will be able get the length of 23cms as there is no replacing of the stiches??
    have i got this right??
    any help would be gratefully recieved

      Each time you p3 tog, you are also adding 3 stitches into one existing stitch, so it will balance out.

      2nd row:

      knit 1;

      knit 1 purl 1 knit 1 IN NEXT STITCH;

      purl 3 together. End of row.
